A Flexible Spending Account, or FSA for short, is a bank account that employees can contribute pre-tax money to, and then use to pay for eligible health and child care expenses.

What can an FSA be used for?

Some common expenses that an FSA can be used for include childcare services, chiropractic care, contact lenses, eyeglasses, co-pays, deductibles, medicine, eye exams, hearing aids, orthodontia, physical therapy, screening tests, and surgery.

What is the difference between a Health Care FSA and a Dependent Care FSA?

A Health Care FSA pays for eligible health care expenses for an employee, their spouse, and dependents. A Dependent Care FSA pays for eligible dependent care expenses such as child care / pre-school or elder care.
